Darlington Credit Union

King’s runs a collection point for the Darlington Credit Union which was formed in 2009 when four already existing credit unions merged. The Credit Union is a financial co-operative owned and run by its members and is a non-profit making group.

All Credit Unions have a ‘common bond’. The ‘common bond’ for Darlington Credit Union is that all members must live and/or work in Darlington.

The Credit Union exists to encourage saving and to give members small loans when needed at affordable rates of interest. This helps to stop the need for people to go to ‘loan sharks’ or doorstep lenders.

The King’s collection point for the Credit Union is open every Wednesday 10am-12noon at the King’s Centre.
