Healing on the Streets (HOTS) is simple way of reaching out to people with the love and power of God by offering them prayer for healing. We believe that Jesus commanded the disciples not only to preach but also heal when they went out preaching the kingdom of God (Luke 9:2, 10:9). In this simple model we are offering to pray for people who need any kind of healing.
All it involves is choosing a busy shopping area, placing 4 -6 separated chairs on the pavement and having leaflets given out nearby, inviting people to come for healing. It sounds pretty mundane but over the past year Jesus has healed 40 people and over 140 have been touched and helped as they experience the love of God in their lives. Jesus has healed cancer, bad backs and knees, deafness, depression and many other things. We have also had people commit their lives to Jesus.
After sitting on the seats people are given an envelope containing the “Why Jesus?” booklet and other information about ourselves.
We have about 40 people in the Team from many different Churches in Darlington (King’s, Elim , Corporation Road Baptist, St Augustine’s, St Andrews, Bondgate Methodist, Cockerton Methodist, Northgate Methodist, Xcel) and we meet in Northgate or near the Joseph Pease monument every fortnight.
Healing On The Streets is led by James Darnton. If you are interested in finding out more about Healing On The Streets or would like to get involved contact James via the church office.
