Alpha Course
Alpha is an internationally recognized programme that people love! It consists of a ten week series of sessions exploring Christianity. Each week we discuss different concepts through open conversations. No two Alphas look the same, but generally they have three key things in common: food, exploration, and good conversation.
How it works...
Food
Whether it's a group of friends gathered around a kitchen table or a quick catch up over coffee and cake, food has a way of bringing people together. It's no different at Alpha. Most sessions start with food because it's such a great way to build community and get to know each other.
Talk
Discussion
The talks or video presentations are designed to engage, raise questions and inspire conversation. They are usually around thirty minutes long. Each presentation explores one of the big issues around faith; for example, prayer, how God speaks, how to have faith and why Jesus' death is so important.
The most important part of any Alpha course is the sharing of thoughts and ideas on each topic through small group discussions in an honest ad non-judgemental environment. There's no obligation to say anything if you'd rather sit and listen and there's nothing you can't say.
